A couple of months ago, Sherefe performed its first show at Full Cycle Café. That night was dedicated to the group’s former drummer, Brett Bowen, and was a great success, with a sold-out crowd, a jumpin’ dance floor, and an ecstatic dance vibe. Back by popular demand, Sherefe returns to the “Balkan Supper Club” for an evening of Greek ballads and Zorba-style dances to Turkish grooves, from Arabic mawwals (laments) to upbeat tunes.

Şerefe is named after a Turkish drinking toast that strictly means “to your honor”, but is used in the “what happens here stays here” sense. Our repertoire consists of large numbers of Greek, Turkish and Arabic songs, as well as smaller numbers of Bulgarian, Macedonian, Bosnian, Rom, Albanian, Hebrew, Persian and Armenian pieces. 

Performing at this show is Jesse Manno (bouzouki, saz, oud, vocals), James Hoskins (cello, gudulka, bouzouki, zurna, vocals), Julie Lancaster (accordion, spoons, vocals), and Dexter Payne (clarinet, saxophone, ney), with guest drummer David Hinojosa.

With more than 35 years since the ensemble's inception in the early 80’s Conjunto Colores has some of Colorado’s finest musicians who are passionate about music and what they do. With over 5 cd’s under their belt, this ensemble has had many hits on the New York salsa radio scene. Not only will you want to dance to their infectious salsa rhythms, but with the all star musicians who comprise Conjunto Colores, you will want to listen and sabor this amazing Salsa Orquestra!!
